Sampling comments: "We randomly placed 25 10-m2 plots in each of the seven pastures" and performed a sampling session "lasting 4-5 days" and specifically starting on 5 July; "we counted and identified Orthoptera (Ensifera and Califera) along a permanent 10-m2 line-transect (10 m in length 1 m in width, defined by two permanent wooden markers)"; most identifications were visual but "a local sample" was drawn to establish "a mean ratio of the two species" in each of three genera; the ratio apparently does not affect the actual reported counts
