Min Ma: 0.131

Age basis: ESR

Geography comments: coordinate is given by Michel et al. (2008, Quaternary Geochronology)
assigned to MIS 6 based on biochronology
UA 13-17 is a group of five occupation levels within the upper part of stratigraphic sub-unit C II
upper C II has mean ESR ages on dental enamel of 131 ± 7 (early uptake) and 165 ± 9 ka (late uptake)

Environment
Lithology: claystone

Taphonomic context: cave

Archaeology: stone tools

Habitat comments: the C complex is "composed of red colluvial sandy clays... as well as blocks and rocks detached from the cave walls" (Michel et al. 2008)
the entire C sequence is interpreted as a "Homo erectus" or pre-Neanderthal occupation based on a final Acheulian-age lithic industry rich in bifaces, but accumulation agents per se are not discussed

Sampling methods: quarry,screenwash

Sample size: 14370 specimens

Years: 1950 - 1965, 1967

Sampling comments: microvertebrates were recovered by wet screening with sieve siezes from 5 to 0.8 mm
excavations were "by F.C.E. Octobon between 1950 and 1965 and by H. de Lumley since 1967"
hominid fossil are present somewhere in the section, but are not included in the data table
there are 30,000 fossils of 130 bird species in the section, but they are omitted from the table
