We used both active and passive infrared-triggered cameras... We used the widely available film camera systems: the Trail-Master active (TM1550) system, and the passive systems DeerCam200 and CamTrakker; and one passive digital system, Reconyx (Recreational)... A total of nine TrailMasters, 15 DeerCams, two CamTrakkers and two Reconyx were dispersed among the trap sites... At 13 locations we placed two different camera systems on opposite sides of the trail to capture target animals from both sides of their body... Cameras operated from August 11 to October 22, 2005, for a 72-day trapping period"
