Combined magnetostratigraphic and biostratigraphic data placed the estimated age of the locality at 11.9 Ma

Taphonomic context: fluvial deposit

Habitat comments: The sediments of BCV1 were deposited at the edge of the coalescence of two major alluvial fan systems

Predators such as barn owls may have been a factor in the accumulation of micromammal remains at BCV1, but it is still debated
